She Podcasts

I am a ten year plus veteran in the podcasting industry and inductee to the Academy of Podcasters Hall of Fame I know the heart and soul of podcasters and podcasting beyond Apple Podcasts and public media. It is with this primary point of view, through the lens of the average podcast listener (via thousands of hours of podcast listening) and independent podcast producer that I bring a unique perspective to the podcasting industry.

I am a ten year plus veteran in the podcasting industry and inductee to the Academy of Podcasters Hall of Fame 💃🏽 I know the heart and soul of podcasters and podcasting beyond Apple Podcasts and public media. It is with this primary point of view, through the lens of the average podcast listener (via thousands of hours of podcast listening) and independent podcast producer that I bring a unique perspective to the podcasting industry.

My passion within the industry is podcasting’s rapidly-changing environment, impact, access, community building, and advocacy.

I welcome the opportunity to elevate existing conversations around podcast consumption and initiate ways to reach new listeners above focusing on metrics, advertising and monetization into social change and using podcasting as a tool for personal growth and transformation.

My current endeavor is in clarifying my leadership and message as the only woman podcasting pundit with the bonus of being Latina and immigrant and co-founder of the largest podcasting community for women, She Podcasts.⠀

I desire to create a framework of ‘next steps’ as a podcasting advocate to further bring awareness in the industry on the issue of access, infrastructure and lack of representation.⠀

I feel podcasting is the great equalizer in media both as a voice for the voiceless and the underrepresented as well as a powerful tool of transformation. ⠀

The driving question of all of my work in podcasting is this: how are we offering content that has an impact and begins a larger process of building a greater understanding of our world, not just replicating existing media and cultural dynamics?⠀

I strive to drive more difficult and complex conversations in the She Podcasts community, as well as supporting and mentoring specifically women of color and those podcasters that are serving underrepresented communities.⠀

Podcasting is expanding rapidly, and as it does, I want to make sure that WoC feel safe, supported and heard (especially in She Podcasts.)

I would be honored if you joined me in continuing the bring forth the roots of podcasting as a form of media that breaks models and strives to liberate and nurture emerging voices! http://elsieescobar.com/
